Research Shows CardioTrim CORE Formula Reduces Heart Disease and Diabetes Risk Factors

Study Published in Lipids in Health and Disease

An expanded study of Soy Labs’ CardioTrim® CORE™ formula indicates that it produces significant reductions in body weight, blood glucose levels, and cholesterol. These are considerable risk factors for heart disease and diabetes, two of the nation’s most deadly diseases.

The two-part study compared the effects of the CORE formula with Cissus quadrangularis (Cissus CQR-300), one of the formula’s components. A double-blind, placebo-controlled, human clinical study examined reductions in weight, body fat, cholesterol, triglycerides, and fasting blood glucose levels. An in vitro study compared antioxidant capacity in obesity-induced oxidative stress.

The human clinical portion of the study spanned a six and an eight week period. While treatment with the CORE formula (8-week period) and Cissus CQR-300 (6-week period) both showed significant ability to improve heart disease and diabetes risk factors, the CardioTrim CORE formula outperformed Cissus CQR-300 alone. Highlights include the following:

Parameter  CORE™ Formula Cissus CQR-300
BMI (Body Mass Index)  -8.5% -5.4%
Total Cholesterol  -26.0% -18.0%
LDL (bad) cholesterol  -32.4% -29.0%
HDL (good) cholesterol +43.0% +21.1%
Triacylglycerol  -28.0% -21.7%
Fasting blood glucose  -16.1% -14.6%

The in vitro portion of the study compared antioxidant capacity in obesity-induced oxidative stress using three testing methods, and each confirmed that the free radical scavenging capacity of the CardioTrim CORE formula was significantly higher than Cissus CQR-300 alone. This finding is important because it is believed that obesity-induced oxidative stress can lead to metabolic syndrome. Characterized by a cluster of symptoms that include insulin resistance, high blood pressure, elevated cholesterol levels, central obesity, and elevated triglycerides, metabolic syndrome increases the risk and incidence of both cardiovascular disease and diabetes.

The study, published in the peer-reviewed, scientific journal, Lipids in Health and Disease (http://www.lipidworld.com/content/6/1/4), was led by Dr. Julius Oben, head of the Department of Biochemistry, University of Yaoundé I (Yaoundé, Cameroon).

“The incidence of obesity in both adults and children is increasing globally, and its link to diabetes and heart disease is undisputed,” stated Soy Labs’ president Ryan Schmidt. “Once considered a problem of developed countries, this epidemic is affecting developing countries as well. This study indicates promising potential for the CardioTrim CORE formula as a tool to help in combating obesity as well as improving other risk factors for these deadly diseases.”
